Happy Winter Solstice!

It is Seasons of Salt’s first year celebrating the other side of the alignment in Nancy Holt’s Sun Tunnels, and I can think of no better way to honor this christening than with the work of longtime friend and Salt Seeker, Charles Uibel.

Charles’ photos have always taken my breath away.  Perhaps it is the places he journeys to on the Lake – the vantage points that few others have or will ever see.  He is fearless in his pursuit of capturing the heart and soul of Great Salt Lake.  He knows it’s secrets and perils and moods, in all seasons.  Today, I let his photos speak for themselves, telling the story of winter: stillness, sunsets, storms, and snow.  Enjoy!
